Thanks — that was a typo (or rather thinko) which I will correct. As to interpretation — well, I’m not sure. What about this quotation from S&S: “all of Los Angeles and the America surrounding it are no longer real….it is no longer a question of a false representation of reality…but of concealing the fact that the real is no longer real.” You can say that he didn’t really mean it, didn’t really want to deny the existence of the external world and was making some other point . Fair enough — but the same applies to Berkeley.
